Eckhart Tolle’s “The Flowering of Human Consciousness”
by James F. Twyman
So, you take a little Zen Buddhism, mix it with straightforward contemporary insight, add a dash of humour (not too much) and you have “The Flowering of Human Consciousness”.
At first I found myself interested as to what exactly is the big deal with this curious man. I listened. I began to become somewhat captivated by the profound simplicity in both his message and the means in which it was delivered. I listened. I then began to feel “it”. The “it” that we all seek: that state of expanded tranquility that is best described as “Presence”. The “it” that is the Peaceful place within us where we transcend our ego, and gain the liberation of Truth. So, sitting there in front of the video became more of an experience than watching. That truly is his gift.
He also shares this gift of insight in several other works, such as “The Power of Now” and its companion book “Practicing the Power of Now” also available at Ascendant Books.
